The ‘Rookie 9‘ – the term is basically from an anime called Naruto and it refers to the nine rookie genin teams from the Hidden Leaf Village (Konoha) who graduated from the Ninja Academy around the same time. The group includes major characters including –

- ‣ Sakura Haruno
- ‣ Sasuke Uchiha
- ‣ Hinata Hyuga
- ‣ Kiba Inuzuka
- ‣ Shino Aburame
- ‣ Ino Yamanaka
- ‣ Shikamaru Nara
- ‣ Choji Akimichi
The members of Rookie 9 initially didn’t know each other as they came to Ninja Academy from different backgrounds, clans and at first they primarily focused on their own training, missions and developing their unique skills.
But it doesn’t remain longer as they started participating in large group activities together like in the Chunin exams where they had to work together and face the tough battles by supporting each other and it was their turning point as these exams helped him to build relationships among themselves.
So, in summary, the Rookie 9 didn’t know each other well initially but they started knowing and developing relations with each other that ultimately helped them to grow as a team.
